Daymon is the largest private brand food development company in the US. It establishes the private brands in major food retailers globally, but primarily focused on the USA, Portugal, South Africa, China and Japanese markets. It also owns the largest in-store demonstration service where foods products are served to customers while shopping (think Costco here) as well as a small, but growing business that provides in-store services such as product relocation, new store openings and in-store survey’s. As the global CIO, I was responsible for all operations globally, establishing strategy and implementation of major systems. I introduced the business management role within IT to faceoff to the business, defined the digital strategy that included digital, mobile and cloud solutions. A key advocate for business relationships, I established ongoing dialogues with my peers at both retailers as well as the manufacturing companies that produce the private brand products. Reporting to the Board on security matters, I led the initiation of a security officer position, a first within the company.
