Coty is a cosmetics and fragrance company, now perhaps the largest in the world. As the SVP Global Information Management, I led the process to transform Coty’s independent country operations into a consolidated, global operating environment. Over several years, SAP ERP (R/3 – ECC 6) was implemented in 17 countries and 5 languages on a single instance. This covered everything from establishing a global chart of accounts, common financial reporting (reduced from over 3 weeks to 3 days), integration technology, manufacturing, distribution, warehouse management, pricing, promotions and more. It also integrated with Manugistics Demand Planning, Hyperion Financial Reporting and a host of other systems. Of note while at Coty was the decision to use a services-oriented architecture to integrate a $1B acquisition from Unilever. The result of this decision was a solution that delivered over 400% ROI and ultimately the ability for Coty to integrate virtually any acquisition in record time. I was awarded the prestigious CIO 100 Award as a result of this work.
